The silver plate does not come attached to the guest book -- you have to put it on. Double-sided tape is provided; however, this does not work. The back of the plate is not flat so only the outer edges touch the book. Because the tape is so thin, when you put it on the plate, it doesn't even reach the book to stick to it. I had to use super glue.
