We’re all about clever ways to save money when planning a wedding but choosing wedding favors that double as wedding decorations has to be one of our all-time favorite ideas! Today we’re focusing on using succulents as double-duty wedding favors, and we think this adorable idea is sure to grow on you.

Favors As Centerpieces: Succulents

Succulents are plants that store water in their thick, fleshy leaves. For example, an aloe vera plant is a succulent. In case you were wondering, they are not the same thing as cacti but many cactus plants are succulents.

These lush little plants come in beautiful shades of green with a few varieties donning a dusty rose or purple. You can grow lots of succulents relatively quickly and easily, and they’re super simple to maintain since they require minimal watering and care. Grow these little guys in tin cans, glass votives, small pieces of wood, etc. Just remember you’ll be giving them away, so choose inexpensive containers that are easy for guests to grab and carry.

Create a table at your reception dedicated to the succulent wedding favors or use them as wedding table centerpieces. Add favor tags to clue guests in that the succulents are actually favors or create a sign (like the chalkboard sign shown) with a fun message to let everyone know these cute little plants are for the taking!
