I am having a hard time with the “perfect favor”. Our reception them is Barbecue at the Beach (it is indoors) and our colors are chocolate, teal, and hot pink. Cookies are typical (seashells). But I want something more. I want them to feel like they can take the beach with them home. Beach themed shot glasses or small glasses that could be personalized with umbrellas would be darling as we have signature cocktail drinks. I like useful favors that they can still use. Measuring spoons with the shell shape would be amazing as my friends and family know I love to cook. I have seen heart measuring spoons everywhere but shells would be perfect! Then I could just tie my wedding color ribbons around the handle. I feel all favors should be useable or edible as in essence it is a “gift” to your guests.
I am having a Christmas themed wedding, using deep red, forest green, and accents of gold. For my favors, I am buying the ingrediants, (in bulk) to make homemade instant hot chocoa mix to fill Mason jars and decorating the jars in my color ribbons. I also am making hand painted ornaments in our colors. I am making 100 of each kind of favor, wrapping them inidividually as Christmas presents with personalized tags and putting them under the tree our hall is providing. That way, when guests leave they can take an actual Christmas present from us thanking them for coming, and every other person gets a different gift!
We’re being married in the fall and I originally knew exactly what I wanted to do – fall-themed candy and/or caramel apples! that being said, i’ve been sort of scared away from it because it’s a bit of work to make sure they look great – I have prefected my technique, and done the taste test (my fav part!) but I was mostly concerned about packaging options, and how well they will keep during the reception. I thought that more people would do this for favours, but so far, I haven’t seen any wedding sites selling a “kit” of any kind – maybe you guys should look into it!
We are getting married next may and are having entwined hearts as our theme. our colors are jade and black se we are doing double heart candies in green in a black box personalized with our names and the date aolong with the hearts we are also doing favor thank you’s for our guest they are entwined hearts key chains in black boxes with jade green thank you stickers from us .
We are gettimg married next July and our colors are sunbeam yellow and ivory. I want to go with a sunflower theme for the wedding but I am having a hard time finding favors for my theme. One idea that I had was to take wine glasses and fill with yellw gel candle wax and cover with a sunflower shaped label with our names and wedding date. The label is the hardest part of this task.
Our theme is rustic elegance and the main color (which is still only an accent color) is copper. We are getting married in February. For a wedding favor I would love something copper but useful or decorative. I am thinking something that may have to do with a penny with an engraving of the date on the back of it. My fiance is in finance and since the color came from me the penny fits him.
We are getting Married August and our colors are Red and pearl white. I want to go with Cali lilies and red roses. its hard to figure out a theme. but one of the favors i wanted was bath rose petals in a champage glass with a monogram of our initals on it. and the other was Strawberry shaped candles in a martini glass. with our weddding date and initals on it.
We are doing a small family wedding (less than 100) and are doing a few cute things. We are getting married at our family home at the beach on the water at sunset in July. While technically that is a formal time, we are keeping it casual and low key. One favor I’m making is my Mama’s famous apple butter with our colors (sage green and royal purple with white) in fabric covering the lids. The other is that we are planting all sorts of flowers in small 4″ pots to line along the seawall, mixed with hurricane lamps and candles. These will also be table centerpieces and guests will take home a flower/plant at the end of the night. I’m going to make labels for the pots and laminate them to help make them somewhat waterproof 🙂 Should be fun!
I’ve been having the hardest time finding ideas to give our guests as favors. Since we’re all from California going to Colorado in the winter for our intimate wedding, we have come up with a few favors we thought would be very festive….
1. Single cups of Spiced hot cocoa: A small mason jar is filled one by one with each ingredient.
2. Smores-To-Go: 4″x4″ clear platsic cubes with (1) graham cracker cracked in half with mini hershey bars on top and 2 large marshmallows on top of that.
3. Fresh baked muffins & local jam: Each guests who is coming already has their cabins rented. I called a local bakery and they will be delivering a basket of fresh baked muffins while we’re all getting off the planes from California. This way, when we all open the doors to our rented cabins, it will smell like fresh made blueberry & carrot raisin muffins. Then I found a local company that makes their own honey and jams locally. Pairing the jam/honey with the muffins will be a nice surprise when we all get there.
Instead of having something too close to Christmas with blue/silver or green/red… We opted for something deeper and more inviting. We’re doing all shades of purple & burgandy… Think dark lapis, rich purples, cranberries, lavender.
We are getting married next october and oh color is royal blue. We are incorporating foliage into decorations for the fall theme. The fall colors against royal blue look beautiful. For our favors we wanted to try something that isn’t just gonna get thrown away so we are really contemating either personalized mint tins with our names and wedding date that have a fall decor on them OR those classic old fashion spiral lollipops in our color with a personalized label with our date and names.
We are getting married in October, my fiancee is actually a chef and we have looked at a million favor ideas. We wanted to do something original and unique so we decided to get the tiny little mason jars and fill them with a spice rub, my fiancee’s favorite rub he makes for all of our meats/fish/veggies. My friends and family love it….. so why not give them something that they can use and love!
Our wedding theme/colors are champagne and lavender! I had the idea to buy Mason Jars and fill them with grapes and blueberries(just for decoration) and wrap champagne ribbon around the top and find a good recipe for homemade grape and blueberry jams and make labels for the top of the jars. Our wedding is in March and I can remember as a child going to my grandparents house in the winter time and there basement being filled with all different types of fruits and vegatables and jams canned in Mason Jars so it seemed very fitting to tie in an old family tradition into our wedding.
We are getting married in October this year. It will be an outdoor cermony and reception on our farm. We are using burnt orange, deep red, chocolate and champagne for our colors. I know that is alot of colors but we really wanted to use all the fall colors since it will be outdoors. Our centerpieces are resturant size tin cans that will be painted copper filled with candy corn and candles. Each centerpiece will sit atop on a centercut piece of wood. Votives will be baby food jars painted with glass paint (autumn and gold) and ribbons glued around the top edges with candles in each one. As favors we are using tulle circles filled with candy corn and reeces pieces hand tied each with our fall themed colored ribbon. This will incorporate all of our colors and still provied a special treat for each guest. Our overall theme for the wedding is “Recycle and Reuse”. Since the tin cans came from a friend who works for a school cafeteria and the jars came from another friend who has a small child. Each where going to be thrown away anyway so why not use them to save money. After the wedding they can be recycled instead of me tring to store them somewhere, trying to resell them or throwing them away. Also my flower girl baskets will be the tin cans with ribbon handles and my ring bearier pillow will be a small piece of wood with ribbon glued to it for the rings.
I have little blue bags that i am going to put homemade personalized cookies in. however, i wanted to tie on heart shaped cookie cutters and include my cookie recipe. All of the cookie cutter favors have these verses with them that i don’t want to include – i wish they just included a blank sheet that i could print what i wanted to on…
I don’t have a wedding theme but our colors are coral and gold and I want a unique favor so I decided that I’m going to make our initials out of rice crispy treats and dip them on coral chocolate and wrap them in a clear bag with gold ribbon.
Our theme/colors are silver, navy and hot pink. We are doing the three colors on separate tables with glass vases, with wire, lighting, and cala lilly’s in them. For favors we want to do a golf theme, we had the idea of golf tees and then making cake ball suckers that look like golf balls on a tee.
Our wedding colors are blue with purple and champagne accent colors. Our theme is “eco-elegant” so we are looking for options which reduce waste, reuse items that are special (such as my best friend’s chuppah and my parent’s toasting glasses) and repurpose. I really want to find roll-up reusable shopping bags and have them printed with either the invitation design or our monogram and date on them. I love the idea that the guests (male or female) will have something they can and are likely to reuse frequently, especially since many shops in our area charge for grocery bags now.
My Fiance and I are getting married on 11/11/11 and we’re having a fall/ Victorian wedding. Our colors are burgundy, orange, white and black. I really wanted to do a small mason jar filled with either hot cocoa or apple cider, but decided that was too common. So, I got to thinking and want to do individual candy apples! I’d wrap them in some pretty cellophane and put a label on them that says ‘You’re the APPLE of my life!’
I will be getting married in the fall. My flowers will be bright sunflower. My favor of choice is a small clay pot filled with a packet of sunflower seeds for planting. The clay pot will be decorated to match my wedding color which is royal blue. Cute and useful.
We are huge craft beer drinkers and many of our closest friends are too. One friend has already told us he wants to personally craft a special brew for our big day. We’re already tossing around fun names for the beer (i.e.; Unification Brew). After a recent conversation with friends about how awesome pint glasses are as everyday glassware, we’ve decided to design special pint glasses for the wedding brew. We’re thinking up two different designs, one created by me and one by my fiance, so every couple/person can go home with two glasses. The next time they want a cold brew (or iced beverage), they can use the glasses and think of what an awesome time they had at our wedding.
We are getting married next June. Our colors are gold and black with red roses. I thought about having match boxes with our names and date on them. But I can’t seem to figure out something that everyone will like that will matchbour theme. We are hoping to get married out in Kincaid. Maybe chocolate roses with gold ribbon??our wedding favors is the one thing I can’t seem to find. It’s going to be a small wedding with a little less than 100 guests.
We are having a fall wedding using a really deep hunter green with ivory. We are getting married this coming November in a completely “Green” building and would love to have something ‘green’ (other than plantable paper) as a favor. I’ve been looking into travel mugs and sport bottles that I can tie my ribbon around, but I’m having a hard time finding something affordable. I too believe that not only should a favor not end up in a landfill, but it’s a gift for your guests and I’d like it to be something they can use.
My fiance and I got engaged in December of 2009 and will be getting married in July of 2012. Our wedding colors are unique and have been hard to find. We choose Mermaid (a David’s bridal exclusive) and black. The idea we have for favors goes along with our reception venue. We chose a old fashion western town for our reception. So our favors are jars with a snap lock on them. We were going to fill them with some type of candy and tie a ribbon on the lock and use a label on the top to thank our guest for coming.
We will be getting married next May. Our colors are chocolate brown, canary yellow and ivory as an tie together color. Our theme is calla lily. So for favors we’re going to use brown favor box bottom, yellow favor box top, tied with ivory organza ribbon and glue a calla lily in the center of the bow. Fill the boxes with either mini cupcakes or jordan almonds.
For my wedding I am doing a western type theme and I have found everything I was looking for except for a favor box. I am wanting a favor box in the shape of a whiskey or wine barrel. I have not been able to find them anywhere!
Our wedding ceremony will be held in a Rose garden & reception will be at a old building that was restored. It was a ball room for dances during world war 2. Our colors are deep purple, royal blue with silver & black accents. My unique favor is wedding bells with heart tops to ring them. The bells will have a small square card attached via a ribbion. The card will have a monogram m on one side & a quote about love and/or marriage on the other.
I am getting married on New Years eve (12/31/11), and I am trying to find a good favor. I want something unique but not expensive. Our colors are Navy blue and silver. If I had to pick a theme, I would have to say it is winter. We are looking at invitations that have the snow flakes or the calla lilies on them since that will be the flowers we are using in the bouquets. I wanted to personalize Jones Soda bottles but realized how expensive that would be. If you can help, I would really appreciate it.
Our wedding is in November of this year, and we really want unique favors. Our theme is the color blue. We have considered doing the candy buffet thing, but it’s been done. Both of us have Greek heritage, so we discussed putting individually sliced pieces of baklava in blue treat boxes with a label thanking our guests. Blaah…but we still don’t know! Any ideas would be awesome.
We’re getting married July 31 in Seattle, it’ll be a beautiful mountaintop outdoor ceremony and reception. Our colors are yellow, black and white (damask). I am using a lot of lemons in the decor — for example, the centerpieces are decorated black manzanita branches sitting in a large pot of lemons. I thought it would be nice to continue that theme and make small jars of lemon curd (I have a killer recipe) and decorate them with black and white damask tags. I’d love to add a personalized label and hang a tag from the lid that features a recipe using the lemon curd.
My fiance and I are getting married this September on Labor Day weekend. Our colors are teal, ivory and hot pink. We don’t really have a specific theme but we are kind of using the weekend as a theme – we are having picnic food (broasted chicken, potato salad) for our meal and grilling for our rehersal dinner. We are using peacock feathers in the bouquets and centerpieces. For our favors, we ordered match books with out monogram on them and our name and date. We also ordered personalized fortune cookies with our own personal messages in them. I am trying to find a way to pull everything together. I wanted to do a candy buffet but good luck finding teal candy. I am thinking maybe a small favor box – maybe in the shape of a picnic basket- with the fortune cookie in it and possibly some other pieces of candy. I am also looking for teal and ivory checked table cloths like a picnic table cloth but I can’t find those anywhere either.
Sounds like favors are one of the hardest things to decide on for a lot of people… me included! We’re not getting married until Sept 2012 so I have some time to think yet but the best idea I`ve come up with so far is to let the guests choose their own favor! Let me explain… I plan on having a candy bar set up near the exit door with small decorative candy bags that my guests can fill with their own favourite type of candy. The table will have a sign on it that says something like “Thanks for sharing our special day, take some candy to eat on your way!”
This way I don’t have to find something that matches my colours or anything!
My wedding is in October so I will have a fun candy bar. The colors of the candy will match my flowers- pink, yellow, orange and red. The favors will be fun personalized bags with our names. This will be a great favors and treats during and after the reception. We will also have either koozies on the table waiting for guests or cookies with a chicago sports team logo. Fun and creative!!
My wedding isn’t for at least a year now so I have some time to think about favors still.. but What I was thinking was to incorporate something me and my fiance love…. gambling lol. I was thinking to somehow get the ace of hearts or something like that made out of chocolate, possibly with our initial placed on it- with our colors of turquoise and mocha. Put them on each place setting inside of a box that could look like a deck of cards!
We don’t have a theme. Our colors will be light blue (pool) and lime green. I have been looking for favor ideas. I really like the idea of giving something edible. The cookie mix sounds fantastic! Thats probably what we’ll do.
I am getting married in September and our colors are navy blue & granny smith apple green. We are doing fortune cookies as a wedding favor, since it was a part of our dating story, then randomly became part of our engagement story! But I would like something else. I LOVE Jen P.’s idea of carmel apples! Great for fall and works wonderfully for my accent color. Wonder how hard it would be to make 400??? 😉
Hello, ladies! My fiancé and I are getting married next month (July 9th) and our colors are navy and turquoise with lime green accents. We are both goofy, happy people so the only “theme” we chose was simple…. FUN!!! After attending countless weddings, we had the idea that if we are going to spend money on a fbor, it needs to be something useful instead of just cute on the table. Since we are having a photobooth, we chose to give every couple a frame for the picture they take in the booth! It’s fun because the frames are actually 2″ x 6″ which is perfect for a strip. What could be a better favor from a wedding than a picture of yourself and your honey!!! 🙂
Also… The frames will double as table cards as we will put the couples names and table number where the picture goes, along with a little note of thanks for attending!
Of these three, I really love the lemonade idea! I have been to TOO many weddings where I’m handed something that goes in the trash when I get home…the poor bride and groom who are spending their money on that stuff!
My wedding is planned for August of 2012 and favors are still up in the air. We want to find something that’s budget-friendly, practical, usable, and gender-neutral. Tough! We’ll probably go with some sort of edible…but always looking for new ideas! We want to customize everything, so even if we go with toffees or caramels or cookies, we want to personalize the labels, etc. Again, I love the lemonade idea – I’ve even seen where you buy brightly colored sodas, personalize the labels, and use them as escort cards. Love the creativity!
I really want to give out my favorite candy, swizzle sticks, and my fav bottled sparkling juice izzie’s . My husband to be and I both dont drink, and we have a few people in our families who have problems with alcohol and so we figured that would be a fun alternative. But my fiance likes carmel, raspberry, and honey….sooo i have no idea how im ever going to combine these somehow for a treat that is truely from both of us. Any ideas would help. I am willing to give out several favors is necessary.
Great question! We suggest a favor/candy bar to share all of your favorite candies with guests. Display candies in jars or bowls and allow guests to scoop up their favorite treat and put in a candy box or favor bag. You can get personalized round stickers for guests to seal their treat bags and you can also use them to label your sparkling jice izzie’s . For your husband to be, I would suggest caramels, raspberry gummies and honey sticks. Check with your local rental store to see if they have a favor/candy bar setup that you can rent. That way, you don’t have to buy the jars or bowls, just the candy to go in them and the favor bags.
We would love to hear about what you decide to do and feel free to share some pics!
