What could possibly be more charming than a lakeside wedding? The water and trees create a beautiful backdrop for the two of you to say “I do,” and no one can resist a reason to head to the lake! So you’ll have plenty of friends and family to share in the joy. Here are a few ideas for planning a wedding by the lake that you and your guests will never forget!
The Lake Welcomes You
Make sure every guest feels incredibly welcome at your lakeside wedding celebration with the perfect wedding invitation to set the mood. We’ve chosen the Lakeside All In One Invitation to introduce this wedding look but we bet you’ll like browsing our selection of elegant wedding invitations as well. This collection is filled with designs that might not match the location perfectly but they will match your wedding style beautifully. We also love the idea of designing a charming “welcome” sign at your ceremony and reception location. The wooden “LAKE” sign with floral-accented oars shown here would make a fabulous addition to any venue.
All about the backdrop!
Choose your ceremony and reception location wisely, and you won’t have to spend very much money at all on decorations. The lake view is the most beautiful décor possible and you want to take advantage of that scenery as much as possible. Make sure you say your “I dos” in front of the lake with guests facing the lake so any and all photos of the two of you include the lake view in the background. Have your reception near the water if possible and guests will enjoy the feeling of gentle relaxation practically rolling in off the water as the sun goes down. A few white lights and candles for mood lighting and you’re set!
A few simple details…
The lakeside view might account for the majority of your décor but we know you have your heart set on adding some other decorations as well. The wine barrels with elaborate floral arrangements shown here at the ceremony is a gorgeous idea! The long wooden reception table shown with antique lanterns and small floral arrangements is quite simple but still very pretty. We also really like anything that adds a little color to the reception. Custom wedding napkins are a really cheap way to do just that plus they include personalization, which is always a nice touch at special celebrations.
