Wedding Favor Centerpieces

1. This tiered dessert stand is a great way to add some height and interest to your table. The solid white stand features a simple design, allowing your cupcakes to be the center of attention! Decorate with a few DIY accents like colorful ribbon and stick-on rhinestones to coordinate with your wedding look.

2. Hang your wedding favor treats from this white favor tree featuring scroll-style branches. It’s a unique focal point for your wedding tables and an easy way to display edible (or nonedible) favors.

3. This acrylic cake stand is perfect for cupcakes, small individual cakes, pie or cheesecake. Mix it up at your reception and have different flavors at each table. Guests can move around looking for their favorite flavor while also meeting your friends and family. Add these inexpensive cupcake picks to cupcakes or mini desserts.

4. Country canning jars filled with corn or sunflower seeds make cute, rustic centerpieces great for holding cake pops or lollipops. Set a small Styrofoam block at the bottom of the jars for holding the desserts. Cover the Styrofoam with your choice of fill. Add a ribbon, antique key or button to your jar. Jars are available blank or personalized.

Aisle Inspiration
Dressing up your aisle can be easy and you can make it as simple or elaborate as your budget allows. Here are a few photos to inspire some wedding decoration ideas for your aisle.

 Aisle Inspiration

Light the way with mason jars wrapped with wire and hung from a metal hook. You can use Christmas light hooks or garden hooks.

Petals are a great way to dress up your aisle. Generously sprinkle petals along the path or create a row of petals on each side. You could use real petals if the ceremony is outside and silk petals if the ceremony is inside.

Clean and elegant, aisle runners are like rolling out the red carpet for your wedding party! Choose something trendy like the simple, lacy design of our Lacy Patterned Aisle Runner or go for something sleek and sophisticated with the Monogram Aisle Runner from our favorite partner site, Invitations by Dawn.

Hang pomanders (round flower arrangements) on pews or chairs. Hang them every two rows to save money. You can reuse these adorable floral arrangements at the reception, too.

Ribbon adds beautiful color to chairs. Use ribbon as “rope” to create a beautiful swag look along each side of the aisle. Create chair sashes — not just an indoor decoration! Use them outside to decorate the aisle chairs and add color to the overall scene.

Quick Tip: Check with the ceremony site to see if there are any restrictions on decorating.

Wedding Decorations with Paper Lanterns
If you are looking for an inexpensive way to dress up your wedding, paper lanterns are an excellent idea. A step above balloons but still budget friendly, paper lanterns are a trend that I love to see at wedding receptions and along ceremony aisles.

Wedding Decorations with Paper Lanterns

Pick one color to make a dramatic impact or mix up the colors and add trailing ribbons for a splash of color. Try hanging them at different heights for a stunning visual and use them as a backdrop for your wedding photos or the reception’s photo booth. The lanterns can even be used as centerpieces filled with flowers popping out of the top or with battery-operated tea lights for a beautiful evening glow.

Dress up your ceremony aisle by tying paper lanterns to chairs with satin ribbon in colors that coordinate with your wedding. Paper lanterns can also be used to create a path at outdoor wedding locations or along the driveway.

Bonus! Use them after the wedding. These lanterns make great decorations for showers, birthday parties, anniversaries and other celebrations. Want to see more affordable decorations? Read “Top 5 Cheap Wedding Reception Decorations from Ann’s.”

After
that first kiss as husband and wife, what’s the sweetest part of your wedding?
The wedding cake! Have a cake cutting ceremony you’ll never forget with these
great tips.

Cake cutting

When

• Right before dessert at a
sit-down reception. Closer to the end of a luncheon or cocktail reception.

• Let the kitchen staff
know when you plan to cut the cake so they can remove it right after for
cutting and serving.

•Money-Saver: Choose a
small but beautiful wedding cake for display at your reception. Keep
less-expensive sheet cakes in the kitchen for serving to guests.

Where

• The cake is usually
placed on its own table. Arrange the venue so your cake table is clearly seen.

• Dress the table up with a
nice tablecloth and some decorations (candles, flower petals, confetti, etc.).

• Choose a beautiful knife
and server set
to display next to the cake and to use during the cake cutting
ceremony.

How

• The bride begins by
picking up the cake knife with her right hand and the groom puts his hand over
hers.

• The couple should start
cutting at the base of a tiered cake. Remember to let the caterer know if you
want to save the top tier.

• The couple cuts a small
wedge of cake together. Using the coordinating cake server, the couple will
place the piece of cake on a plate with two forks.

• The groom feeds the bride
the first bite, and she feeds him the second. Afterward, they may share a kiss
and sometimes the couple will cut slices for their parents.

Why

• The cake cutting ceremony
symbolizes the couple’s commitment to share with and support one another.

• Plus, it’s just fun!
