Save the Dates
Are save the dates necessary?
In today's very busy world, reserving your most loved friends and family early on is very important. However, you don't have to send save the dates. You can choose to send your wedding invitations early but the nice thing about save the dates is that you only need two pieces of information: date and location. Once you have those two things determined, you can send these out in no time. Also, save the dates are a great way to use those engagement photos you've been dreaming about!
Do save the dates need to match the wedding invitation?
No, save the dates do not need to match your wedding invitations. In fact, many couples use the save the date to really show some personality and style! Now if you want them to match, that's great! Just remember that you'll be sending save the dates quite a bit earlier than your invitations but if you feel confident you know exactly what you want for both that early on, go for it!
When should I send save the dates?
Depending on when you get engaged, you’ll want to send your save the dates anywhere from six months to one year before the wedding, but we recommend nine months to one year before. If you are planning a destination wedding, you’ll want to send them out at least one year before since destination weddings require quite a bit more planning.
